FEATURED RECIPIENT

Bringing the Arts to the Heart of Beaverton

The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts (The Reser) is a public/private partnership with the City of Beaverton, and the first performing arts center of its kind to be built from the ground up in the Portland-metro area in over 30 years. Driven from the start by robust community input, The Reser dramatically expands opportunities for local residents and visitors alike to share in the benefits and rewards of a vibrant and thriving arts community.

The mission of “The Reser” is to foster joy, imagination, connection, and understanding in our diverse community, by presenting artistic, cultural, educational, and entertainment opportunities for all. The 43,000 square foot facility includes: a 550-seat theater; a 1,200 square foot art gallery; rehearsal, meeting, and workshop space; and an outdoor plaza. Envisioned as the cultural “family room” of a flourishing community, The Reser will eliminate barriers and create opportunities for deeper understanding and authentic connections between people through the power of the arts.

The Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund has been a strong, strategic partner throughout The Reser’s planning, construction, and transition to operations and programming. Early support was leveraged to generate project momentum, and the most recent grant offers additional incentive for community members to be a part of The Reser for generations to come.
